Headpiece for the AB Harmony. It is compatible with your Harmony and costs less than a new headpiece. Not sure it fits your Harmony? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we confirm before you pay.
Part numberCI-5305 (Universal Headpiece UHP), CI-5304 (Harmony headpiece)
Overview
The AB Harmony Headpiece is a refurbished black headpiece for the Advanced Bionics Harmony sound processor. It is the round piece that sits on your head over the implant, held in place by a magnet, and it sends sound from the processor to the implant through the skin.
When a headpiece fails, you hear nothing at all, however good the rest of your kit is. This AB Harmony Headpiece is a pre-owned unit that we test before dispatch, offered as a practical way to keep your Harmony working.

In Advanced Bionics naming, the Harmony headpiece belongs to the Auria accessory line, so your current headpiece may be labelled Auria Headpiece. This AB Harmony Headpiece is a direct swap for it. It plugs into the same headpiece cable, and it sits on the same spot on your head.

Different implant systems and coils
A headpiece must match the implant system as well as the processor. This one is for people who already wear an Advanced Bionics Harmony with this style of headpiece. If you wear a different AB headpiece, such as the Universal Headpiece, or you are not sure, send us a photo of your current headpiece and processor before ordering.
Your implant settings are stored in the processor, not in the headpiece, so a replacement headpiece does not need new programming. If anything sounds different after the swap, contact your audiologist.
What refurbished means for this headpiece
Refurbished means this headpiece is not new. It has been used before, and it has been tested by us before it is dispatched, so you receive a unit that works when it arrives.
It may show light signs of earlier use, such as small marks on the casing.
It carries the same guarantee as our new parts: if it is defective or the wrong item, we replace it or refund you.
For many Harmony users, a tested refurbished headpiece is the realistic option now. If you prefer to check something specific before ordering, such as the condition of the casing, message us on WhatsApp and we will answer before you pay.
Why Harmony users keep a spare headpiece
The headpiece is the one Harmony part with no workaround: without it, no sound reaches the implant at all.
A headpiece can fail from a cracked housing, a worn magnet seat or a damaged socket, and a replacement through a clinic can take weeks to arrange.
A working spare AB Harmony Headpiece protects you in the meantime. If your only headpiece fails, you can be back to hearing the same day instead of waiting weeks.
Headpiece, cable and magnet: how the parts work together
It helps to know what each part of the Harmony chain does, because a fault in one can look like a fault in another.
Part
What it does
Processor
Picks up sound, runs your programs and powers the system from the PowerCel battery
Headpiece cable
Carries the signal and power from the processor up to the headpiece
Headpiece
Sends the signal through the skin to the implant
Magnet
Holds the headpiece in place over the implant
Sound only reaches you when every link works. A flat battery, a frayed cable or a cracked headpiece can each cause total silence, and a worn cable or loose plug can cause sound that comes and goes as you move.
That is why the order of testing matters: battery first, then cable, then headpiece. The cable is the part that flexes all day, so it wears out much sooner than an Advanced Bionics headpiece. Keeping a spare headpiece cable alongside a spare headpiece covers the two parts most likely to stop you hearing.
Signs your Harmony headpiece needs replacing
Sound cuts in and out even after you fit a new headpiece cable.
The processor signals that it has lost contact with the implant, although the headpiece is in place.
The casing is cracked, or the cable socket is loose or damaged.
The headpiece got wet or was dropped, and sound has not been right since.
There is no visible damage, but nothing you change brings the sound back.
Always try the cheapest fix first. Users often say the cord connecting the headpiece to the processor is the fragile part, and a frayed headpiece cable causes the same symptoms as a failing headpiece. Fit a fresh battery and a new headpiece cable. If the problem is still there, the headpiece is the likely cause.
How to connect and wear your AB Harmony Headpiece
Turn the processor off, or remove the battery.
Unplug the old headpiece from the headpiece cable, holding the plug, never the wire.
Plug the cable into the new AB Harmony Headpiece until it is fully seated.
Check that the other end of the cable is firmly connected to the processor.
Put the processor behind your ear and place the headpiece over your implant. The magnet will pull it into position.
Switch on and do a listening check, then move your head from side to side to make sure sound stays steady.
Check your skin under the headpiece over the first few days. A red mark or soreness can mean the magnet hold is stronger than you are used to.

Loose plug or moisture
Reseat the plugs. Dry the processor and headpiece overnight
A drying unit such as our electric processor dryer helps if moisture or sweat is part of the problem.
How to make your AB Harmony Headpiece last longer
Lift the headpiece off by the casing, never by pulling the cable.
Keep the headpiece dry. Take it off before showering, swimming or using a hair dryer.
Wipe the casing gently with a dry cloth to remove sweat and skin oils.
Keep it away from strong magnets and from metal objects in your bag.
Store it in a case at night, not loose on a bedside table where it can fall.
Replace the headpiece cable at the first sign of fraying, because a damaged cable puts strain on the plug.
Headpieces usually last much longer than cables, and good handling is the best way to keep it that way.
Is a refurbished AB Harmony Headpiece safe for my implant?
This AB Harmony Headpiece is a refurbished, third-party supplied part. We are not Advanced Bionics, and we are not authorised by AB. The headpiece is designed to the Harmony specification, uses the same connection, and is tested before dispatch.
Because it sits on your skin over the implant, take two simple precautions. Check the skin under it during the first few days, and if the magnet hold feels very different from your old headpiece, stop and contact your clinic, which can advise on magnet strength. If it is defective or not the right part, we replace it or refund you.
Shipping, payment and returns for the AB Harmony Headpiece
Every AB Harmony Headpiece order is packed and dispatched within 24–48 hours with tracking. Delivery usually takes 12–22 business days worldwide, and duties are handled for you on most routes, so there is nothing extra to pay at the door. Shipping is free on orders over $250, which is easy to reach if you add a spare cable or charger.
Payment runs through a secure payment gateway with all major cards. If we send the wrong item, or the part arrives defective or damaged, message us within 14 days with a short video. We replace it or refund you, and we cover the return shipping. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted on hygiene-sensitive hearing parts. Full details are in our return policy.
Other AB Harmony parts you may need
Keep your AB Harmony working with these matching spares:
It means the headpiece has been used before. We test it before dispatch, it may show light signs of earlier use, and it carries the same guarantee as our other parts.
Is this the same as the Auria Headpiece?
Auria is AB’s accessory line name for Harmony. This AB Harmony Headpiece is made to work where the Auria Headpiece (CI-5304 series) works. We are not Advanced Bionics.
Does the headpiece need programming?
No. Your programs are stored in the processor. If sound feels different after the swap, your audiologist can check it.
Does it come with a cable?
Plan to use your current Harmony headpiece cable, or order a replacement cable in 9, 11 or 26 cm. If your cable is frayed, replace it at the same time.
What magnet strength does it have?
Magnet strength is set for each user. If the hold feels too strong or too weak compared with your old headpiece, contact your clinic before wearing it for long periods. Message us with a photo of your current headpiece if you have questions before ordering.
How do I know it is the headpiece and not the cable?
Swap the cable first. If sound still cuts out with a new cable and a fresh battery, the headpiece is the likely fault.
Will it fit my Naida CI?
Naida CI processors are usually fitted with a different headpiece. Send us a photo of your set-up and we will tell you whether this one is suitable.
Why buy a refurbished headpiece instead of upgrading?
Upgrading is a decision for you and your clinic, and it takes time and money. A tested spare keeps your Harmony working while you decide.
Can I keep it as a backup?
Yes. Keep the spare AB Harmony Headpiece in a dry case so that a sudden failure does not leave you without sound.
Is black the only colour?
This refurbished headpiece is black. Colour does not affect how it works. If you want the rest of your set to match, our Harmony batteries come in black and in Sand Beige.
